Malaysia Book Of Record

Jika Dato' Azhar Mansor berjaya membelah lautan..
Jika Dato' Malik Mydin berjaya menyeberangi Selat Inggeris..

"52 HOURS NON-STOP MULTILINGUAL PUBLIC SPEAKING."

Sebanyak 10 bahasa asing termasuk bahasa ibunda dituturkan oleh para peserta; Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Inggeris, Arab, Jepun, Rusia, Jerman, Mandarin, Tamil, Perancis dan Korea. Aku memikirkan akan nasib bangsaku. Aku berfikir sejenak. Kalbuku dirobek.

Salty Coffee

A boy met her girl friend in his friend's party. She was so outstanding that many guys chasing after her, while he was so quiet that nobody paid attention to him.

At the end of the party, he invited her to have a cup of coffee with him, she was surprised, but due to being polite, she accepted the request. They sat in a nice coffee shop, he was too nervous to say anything, she felt uncomfortable, she said, please; let me go home.

Suddenly the boy asked the waiter, "Would you please give me some salt? I would like to put it in my coffee."

She stared at him, so strange! His face turned red, but still, he put the salt in his coffee and drank it.

She asked him curiously; why you have this hobby?
He replied: "When I was a little boy, I was living near the sea, I like playing in the sea, and I could feel the taste of the sea, just like the taste of the salty coffee. Now every time I have the salty coffee, I always think of my childhood, think of my hometown, I miss my hometown so much, I miss my parents who are still living there," while saying tears filled his eyes.

She was deeply touched. That's his true feeling, from the bottom of his heart. A man, who can tell out his home sickness, he must be a man who loves home, cares and has responsibility of home.

Then she also started to speak about her far away hometown, her childhood, family and all. That was a really nice talk, and also a beautiful beginning of their love story.

They continued to see each other. She found that actually he was a man who meets all her demands; he had tolerance, kind hearted, warm and careful. He was such a good person but she almost missed him! Thanks to his salty coffee!

Then the story begin just like every beautiful love story, the princess married to the prince, and then they were living the happy life and every time she made coffee for him, she put some salt in the coffee, as she knew that's the way he liked it always.

After 40 years of married life, suddenly the boy had passed away, and left her a letter, in which he said:

"My dearest wife, please forgive me, forgive my whole life lie which I told you. This was the only lie I said to you - the salty coffee. Remember the first time we met? I was so nervous at that time, actually I wanted some sugar, but I said salt. It was hard for me to change, so I just went ahead. I never thought that it could be the beginning of our love story! I tried to tell you the truth many times in my life, but I was too afraid to do that, as I have promised not to lie to you for anything in my married life."

"Now I'm dying, I'm afraid of nothing, so I tell you the truth: I don't like the salty coffee, what a strange and bad taste. But I had the salty coffee for my whole life! Since I love you, I never feel sorry for anything I do for you."

"Having you with me is my biggest happiness since ever. If I can live for the second time, I still want to know you and have you only in my life, even though I have to drink the salty coffee for my whole life."

Her tears made the letter totally wet.

One day, someone asked her: "What's the taste of salty coffee?"
"It's very sweet," she replied.

Carpenter Story

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire, and he told his boss of his plans to leave and live a more leisurely life with his wife. He would miss the paycheck, he could get by, but he needed to retire.

The contractor was sorry to see such a good worker to go, and he asked the carpenter to build just one more house as a personal favor.

The carpenter agreed, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work anymore. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end a dedicated career.

When the carpenter finished his work, the contractor came to inspect the house. He handed the front-door key to the carpenter.

"This is your house,"the contractor said.
"It is my gift to you."he added.

The carpenter was really shocked! What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently.

So it is with us. We build our lives, a day at a time, often putting less than our best into the building. Then at sudden we realize that we have to live in the house which we built it ourselves.

If we could do it over, we would do it much differently; very well. But we cannot turn the time machine back. It is ridiculous. Time is gold.

In the nut of shell, you are the carpenter of your life. Each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Your attitudes and the choices you make today build your 'house' tomorrow.

Unit One

Ana awiz burtuqal ( I want some orange, please )

>>8 June 2009; Monday<<

Today the class progress is like usual. We wait for Miss Dila and by the time she is coming, we already open our book and ready for the tutor. Meanwhile our class representative is busy setting up the LCD.

But today is slightly different from the previous class as today we the MEG1 group for the first time will use our textbook entitle 'English For Health Science'.

"Study the unit 1 first for 10 minutes then we will discuss."Miss Dila instructed.

I read through the content and reveal that actually we are learning new skill of communication in medical field. Of course as a doctor. I learn how to make diagnosis, how to take the medical history as well as the topics that might be suitable for making 'small talk'. (The talk which has no relation in any of the patient's illness). Like "How about your vacation Mr. Bobo?" or "Do you still playing basketball, didn't you?"

Then we were asked in pairs to play-in role of taking medical history of given cases; one will act as a doctor and the other as a patient.

All of us experience it very much. We are actually being exposed on how a doctor actually work on his patient. It is something like interview or dialogue but with more specific manners.

After done the 'acting' session, we write and answer the questions in the book. I learned many of new terminology like Tachycardia, Exophthalmus and Nystagmus.

We done our class today. I hope we can learn more in future..~

Blessing From The Creature

Ana gangan kaman. ( I also feel hungry )

While a man was walking on his way home, he became extremely thirsty. He found a well, then he went down into it to drink the water.

Upon leaving the well, he saw a dog which was panting out of thirst. His tongue was lolling out and he was eating moist earth from extreme thirst. The man thought to himself: "This dog is extremely thirsty as I was." So he descended himself into the well, filled up his leather sock with water, and holding it in his teeth, climbed up and quenched the thirst of the dog. Allah forgave him in appreciation of this act and admitted him to Jannah.

In Hadith: A companion asked, "Shall we be rewarded for showing kindness to the animals also?" Rasullullah (S.A.W) said, "A reward is given in connection with every living creature."
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

May Allah forgive all of our sins..
Insyaallah Amin..~

The Judgement Day

Hetruh feen? geet maa'yan walla eeh?
( Where are you going? Are you coming with me? )

>>2 June 2009; Tuesday<<

I was sitting at my place just relaxing and doing nothing in particular. I peeked out of the window and saw there were some white clouds blocking the blue sky. There was no hint of rain. It was just a pleasant warm morning, very normal.

Then I heard a distant rumble of thunder. It was so faint that I thought I might have imagined it. Gradually the rumbling became more distinct. The rumbling grew louder and louder. In a few minutes I could feel cool wind blowing of course from the air-conditioner!

Now is the time!
We were ready for the next battle!

"Good morning class, so how do you do?"asked Miss Dila.

"Fine Alhamdulillah Miss,"we answered.

Me and Muhammad Zaharudin were so eager to present ours. Yesterday had left us. Today is the day. We wore exactly look-like yellow shirt to show we as a team. We showed our identity. We showed ourselves. We showed what was meant by unity! ( Perhaps it got some bonus mark for uniform appearance ah?? )

"Zaharudin, I think it's better if we present 1st, for sure our friends cannot wait what are we gonna tell them later on,"I whispered to Zaharudin.

"Yeah let's move on,"he replied with full of courage.

Then we started our presentation entitled;
"Indonesian Traditional Medicine & The Responsibilities of A Doctor."

I started it with the 1st slide, at the beginning we told them briefly about Indonesia and the surrounding archipelago. We can see the face of excitement and enthusiasm. Miss Dila seemed to enjoy it very much!

"Argh..Why the song cannot be hear?Is it something wrong with the speakers??"I murmered alone.

Supposedly 'Inconsolable by Backstreet Boys' will be our background music. Hmm maybe next time~

Then we continued our duty. We told class about Dukun, Jamu, Exorcism, Offering, the Black Magic, Divination and Soothsaying, Charms and Blessing, Herbs and so on. We explained it in our own words instead of reading it one by one from the slide. Miss Dila had warned all of us before. She do not want plagiarism to be practise here at INTEC.

After we reached the conclusion, there are Q&A session. It tooks about 5 minutes. Then the class continued with the next three group presenting their ideas.

60 minutes later..

"Ok you guys doing well today, but I wonder how am I suppose to distribute the marks because as you all know the passing marks is 80. It totally depends solemnly on your own presentation!"she explained.

The class started to buzz here and there for a while. Everybody was mumbling to each other talking about our achievement so far. We actually worried, but I know all of us had tried our best. The time was running by before we realized.

"Ok thank you class,"she said.

"Thank you Miss. See ya,"we replied.

The class dismiss...

Presentation Time

Ismek eh?ente minen? ( What's your name? Where you come from? )

>>1st June 2009; Monday<<

As usual the MEG1 students will have their English Class tutored by Miss Dila today. Of course we are so passionate and very happy to learn something new or perhaps some new exposure or knowledge.

Phew..

But today I feel like something..

My head is spinning..

My heart is dupping..

My vision seems to blur out of range..

My adrenaline flow extremely rush and fast..

And overwhelmed the entire body..

I sit on my chair and take a deep breath. Ahaa and now I know why..

Today is actually our first group presentation; Our 1st assignment; Our 1st task!!

Frankly I have no problem at all. We supposedly had been trained in our former school to face the audience confidently before we went to this lovely INTEC. It just only the matter of training and practise. Right??

Me and Muhammad Zaharudin (Ca'a) are grouped together. I bring along my superb speaker with the sub-woofer. But this is not the rock show ok!! We gonna present via powerpoint slideshow maximum of 10 minutes per group. I repeat 10 minutes ONLY ok!

"Ok 1st group, who want to volunteer", shouted Miss Dila sitting at behind of the class.

The class ZzzZzzZ..

Everybody keep silent. Ahakz~

Then suddenly...

A couple of heroes jump out..

Of course that is not my group. Suaidi, Faris and Hafiz take the action of presentation. They choose Chinese culture and the belief. Such a remarkable way of presentation. All of us enjoy and take benefits from it.

Then after one group to the next. There are group presenting culture and belief from India, Greece, Egypt, Japan and any other country. We are so passionate and the class is like full of emoticon of enthusiasm. Though it is our 1st presentation ever at INTEC, I think all of us can cope and handle with the situation given. We just need to relax and focus more on the priority rather than unnecessary matter.

Wait!

Then where is my group??Are there missing in action??

"Ok guys times up, which group does not make their presentation yet will present it tomorrow but with additional 0f 10 more minutes,"explained Miss Dila.

"Or you guys still want 10 minutes of presentation but pass up along with the paper work,"she added.

What??...

The class dismiss..

p/s: Actually today Mr. Zaharudin went to make his medical check-up. So we posponed our presentation to the next class.

Delicious Cake

Izzaiyak?? (How are you?)

A little boy is telling his grandmother on how everything is gonna be wrong. School, family problems, health problems, problems with friends, money matters and so on.

Its the tea time. His grandmother decide to bake a very special cake and pie. She asks her grandson if he would like to have a snack, which, of course, he does.

“Here, have some cooking oil.”the grandmother offer her grandson.
“Yuck.”says the boy.
“How about a couple raw of eggs?”

“Gross, grandma!”
“Hmm now would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?”
“Grandma, those are all yucky!”

To which grandmother replies: “Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they will make a wonderfully delicious cake!"

God works the same way. Many times we often wonder why He would let us go through such a bad and difficult times.
But Allah knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually they will all make something wonderful..

Allah hears all of our prayers. Whenever we want to talk, He will listen and hear.
He is Al-Baseerul, Sameer - The Seerer, The Hearer.

“And when My servants ask you concerning Me, then surely I am very near; I answer the prayer of the suppliant when he calls on Me, so they should answer My call and believe in Me that they may walk in the right way.” [surah al-Baqarah; 2:186]
